Who we are

Minutewell is made by Hokfam. This policy covers the Minutewell app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Questions: minutewellsupport@hokfam.com.

On this device

Recordings, transcripts, summaries and chat stay in Minutewell on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Apple Speech and Apple Intelligence run on the device. Hokfam does not receive that data.

What we don’t collect

No Minutewell account.
No Hokfam servers for your recordings or notes.
No analytics and no advertising SDKs.
No payment card details. Purchases go through Apple.

Crash information reaches Apple only if you choose to share diagnostics with app developers through Apple. We do not add our own tracker.

iCloud

iCloud sync is off. Your library is not uploaded. If sync is offered later, it would use your private iCloud, encrypted by Apple, not a Minutewell server.

When text can leave the device

On-device Apple Intelligence does not leave the device.
Private Cloud Compute, if you choose it, sends the text of a summary or question to Apple. Apple says those requests are not stored. Audio is not sent.
Your own API key is off until you allow it. Only transcript text and your question are sent, never the audio file. That provider’s privacy policy then applies, and you can switch back to on-device at any time.

Permissions

Microphone to record, after you tap Record.
Speech to turn recordings into text on the device.
Calendar only if you let Minutewell name a recording after a meeting.
Reminders only when you add an action item to Reminders.
Notifications so you can hear when a summary is ready.
Screen and system audio on Mac only when you turn on call capture. The screen is not saved. Only the other side’s audio is kept.

Recording other people

Tell people when you are recording. Laws differ by country and state, and some require everyone’s consent. Minutewell is a recorder you start yourself, not a hidden bot in a call.

Deleting your data

Delete a recording in the app and its audio, transcript and summary are removed from that device. Uninstalling Minutewell removes what the app stored there.

Children

Minutewell is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

AI

Summaries can be wrong. Check anything important. Minutewell is not a medical or legal record, and it is not certified under HIPAA or GDPR.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change and the copy inside the app will change with it.
